Completed Kdramas of 2020 ,

Ongoing Kdramas of 2020

1.Alice

“Someone’s future is someone else’s past”.

Synopsis:-

Due to a death, a man and a woman become separated forever, but they meet again like magic.

Plot:-

In 2050, the construction of Alice, where time travellers who managed to travel through time gather, is completed. That’s when a rumour on a prophecy that spreads, stating that time travel will soon fade in history.

When Yoo Min Hyuk and Yoon Tae Yi, a couple, are sent to the year 1992 to secure the rumoured prophecy, Tae Yi realizes that she has conceived a child and decides to stay in the year 1992 by herself.

After changing her name to Park Sun Young, she eventually gives birth to a beautiful son, Park Jin Gyeom. Unfortunately, Jin Gyeom suffers from Alexithymia, the inability to feel emotion, a side effect of radiation exposure.

In 2010, while living on with his life relying on his only family, Sun Young ends up getting murdered by someone. It’s been ten years since Sun Young’s death, and Jin Gyeom runs into Yoon Tae Yi, a physics professor, who looks exactly like his mother while pursuing the culprit who is responsible for his mother’s death.

Review:-

“Alice” is a different type of k-drama which we do not see daily. This k-drama is a science fiction drama with a tinge bit of emotion, romance and some action. Kim Hee-sun has been seen playing double roles as Tae-yi and Sun-young. If you watch this drama, you will understand that it’s a physics based drama.

We obviously have to use our brains to understand this drama. It’s actually something similar to an earlier kdrama of 2020 “The King: Eternal Monarch”

What I find interesting about this drama is the suspense, the action which has been shown and above all the love which Jin-gyeom has for his mother. I liked that because although he has Alexithymia he tries to show that he really loves his mother.

As the series is going on, I am seriously getting nerve wrecked and been waiting every Friday and Saturday for new episodes. Not to mention, the amazing “time travel”  this drama is showing. It really make me want to time travel too.

I think that Jin-gyeom will reunite with his father, who thinks that both Yoon Tae-yi and Jin-gyeom are dead. Jin-gyeom will surely come to know about his mom’s murderer and maybe even save his mother by time travelling and will change the whole future or I think, he will catch his mom’s murderer  with his dad and maybe like start dating Yoon Tae-yi as we all can see that she is starting to feel love for Jin-gyeom. Ah! I cannot wait to know  how this drama will end.  I seriously will miss this drama.

If you are not watching then you are living in the dark. It’s a highly recommended drama by me.

2.Dinner Mate or Would You Like To Have Dinner Together?

“I came back to have dinner with you.

Synopsis:-

Woo Do-hee, a producer at a digital content company, and Kim Hae-kyung, a psychiatrist, meet by coincidence and end up eating dinner together.

Later, they meet again by coincidence and decided to become "dinner mates" without knowledge of each other's personal details (name, occupation, etc), they only meet up to eat dinner and talk.

Plot:-

A young woman going through a rough breakup with a long-time boyfriend and a man who had a painful first love, meet unexpectedly on Jeju Island. Upon their return to Seoul they remain acquainted due to their shared love of food and trying out new cuisines.

When they dine out, they keep their private lives to themselves, not even disclosing their names. Due to a series of odd coincidences they find themselves meeting in unexpected situations. Or is fate sending them a message?

Review:-

“Dinner Mate” is one kind of healing dramas of 2020. The story revolves around how Woo Do-hee broke up with her ex-boyfriend because he was tired of having dinner with her and how Kim Hae-kyung came into her life, first by becoming her dinner mate and an unexpected acquaintance as they both meet always in unexpected manner and they at first keep their identities hidden mainly due to their bad pasts but later becomes each others closest person.

Let me explain why it centered around having dinner. We always eat dinner with our loved ones, whether it’s our family, our boyfriends/girlfriends or our husband/wife. So when someone tells you that he hates to have dinner with you then it means that the person does not like you.

This drama also showed this in that way. I loved this drama as it showed me that there is  a much better person waiting for you to love you, to heal you and to have dinner with you daily without getting tired. An excellent kdrama about healing and love and a must watch kdrama.

3.Do You Like Brahms?

“Beuramseureul Joahaseyo?”

Synopsis:-

A kdrama about the dreams and love of classical music
students who find their own happiness while learning
music.

Plot:-

In defiance of her family’s opposition, Song Ah gets accepted to the music school of the same university where she originally majored in business. As she’s seven years older than her classmates, she finds her new academic life daunting and struggles to find strength.

One day, she hears Joon Young playing “Traumerei," which comforts her. Joon Young is a talented pianist who started playing the piano when he was six. He’s been friends with Jung Kyung, the granddaughter of Kyunghoo Group’s CEO, for a long time, and is in love with her.

When he decides to keep his distance from Jung Kyung, he meets Song Ah.

Review:-

One of my favourite ongoing kdramas of 2020. As the story says, it’s a kdrama about music.

Music is the main theme of the story. Then comes friendship, romance and
hardships. The story opens with Chae Song-ah who is getting ready to play in Park Joon-young’s concert as a violinist. But somehow she and other student gets kicked out.

Joon-young takes a liking into Song-ah as he saw how the conductor misbehaved with her
After that incident both of them are meeting eachmainly due to fate and through music “Traumerei”

From there they started to become close with Joon-young asking Song-ah to be his friend and also hugging her by giving her a shoulder to cry on as she got betrayed by her own friends. I like this how Joon-young is always trying to stand up for Song-ah and proudly telling people that she is his friend.

The story is showing that both the leads somehow got betrayed by their own friends and they are finding each other as closure and becoming friends.
While watching this series you will definitely see the love Joon-young is creating for Song-ah.

This kdrama will definitely give us some heart breaking episodes . I can't wait to see how both of the leads will fall in love with one another. If you are a big fan of classical international music just like me then I will highly recommend you to watch this kdrama.

One other big aspect of this drama is that it is a very heart warming and peaceful and calm drama. So if you want to watch something soothing or heartwarming you should start this kdrama.

All the OSTs are extremely amazing.

4.Backstreet Rookie or Convenience Store Saet-byul :-

“That’s right. I applied to work here so that I can see your face everyday. I am going to work hard and become a real employee, so you just watch. You won’t regret hiring me.”

Synopsis:-

Choi Dae-hyun runs into a group of female high school students, including Jung Saet-byul, who look like trouble makers. Saet-byul asks Dae-hyun to buy them cigarettes
from a convenience store, but he buys them candy instead and gives Saet-byul his number. She never calls him. Three years later, Dae-hyun runs a small convenience store after resigning. While looking for a part-time worker to work the night shift at his convenience store, Saet-byul applies for the job and starts working there.

Plot :-

Jung Saet Byul is a 22-year-old, four-dimensional girl with amazing fighting skills, loves her friends, family, and retro-fashion. She has the boys lined up but only convenience store
owner Choi Dae Hyun holds her attention.

Three years ago, he became imprinted upon her as an unforgettable person after a cigarette errand. Flash forward to the present; Jung Saet Byul applies for a part-time position at Choi Dae Hyun convenience store, which he also manages. There their love story begins as they heal the wounds of the heart, gain love, and become adults dreaming of the future.

Review:-

“Backstreet Rookie” is entirely a different kind of 2020’s kdrama. This drama mainly centres around the comedy genre with bits of romance, slice of life and some action.

The drama starts with Choi Dae-hyun has been seen saving a kitten from gutter and school girls melted on seeing his action. On the other side Jung Saet-byul is running very fast after high school is over for that day, in order to save her friends. Dae-hyun is also seen running as he was becoming late for his date. Well because of his helping and shy nature, his girlfriend broke up.

From after that date, he meets Saet-byul and her friends, who ordered him to buy them cigarettes from convenience store, obviously he did not buy that and instead gave them
chocolates.

He then goes on lecturing about not to smoke when they are only high schoolers. Saet-byul, on seeing Dae-hyun for some minutes fell in love with him and kissed him in the “most dramatic way”.

After that comes the present day, where we can see Dae-hyun has left his old job and is the manager of aconvenience store “GS25” and has been working non-stop.
There again Saet-byul comes to work as his part timer. Dae-hyun recognises her and from there starts the cat and mouse chase between him and her in order to make her quit her job.

Saet-byul after her father’s death did not complete high school and left her old ways of living and has been working non-stop so that she can make her sister complete high school and then send her to college.

But her sister has been living on the wrong side and Saet-byul always goes around her to save her. Then see that Saet-byul’s sister, Eun-byul is really good at singing and wants to become a k-pop star. But Saet-byul is not very happy with the decision as she fear that her sister might fail. Saet-byul’s two friends are there for Saet-byul since high school, Hwang Geum-bi and Cha Eun-jo.

After Saet-byul left high school, Geum-bi too, took a break from high school and Eun-jo may have also done that but it remains unclear. Now in present time, Geum-bi is still going to high school in order to complete it and Eun-jo is seen working at a salon.

Saet-byul also has a celebrity friend Kang Ji-wook, who used to practise taekwondo with Saet-byulat a younger age at her father’s taekwondo center. He also has a massive crush on her and a true friend who always remained besides her during hard times. While this drama was mainly comical because majority of the scenes were so funny, it also had some sad scenes like how Saet-byul misses his dad and Dae-hyun having another break up from Yeon-joo as their family backgrounds were different.

There were some times of the drama where I got angry on Yeon-joo because she was being very persistent on Dae-hyun about firing Saet-byul, just because she was very jealous. And also, later she cheated on him with her childhood friend who is now her manager and also has a crush on her.

What I really loved about this kdrama was the slow transition of relationship between Dae-hyun and Saet-byul. They may have a great age gap but both of them, especially, Saet-byul knew Dae-hyun much better.

I really loved Dae-hyun’s mom, as she was very close to Saet-byul and even took her to their home after she lost everything, even though they were not financially strong and always gave advice to her and did not even got angry when she left their home twice.

How can I forget the scenes where Dae-hyun’s mom would chant Buddhist mantras and would open her bracelet and give beatings to her husband whenever he used to mention about his first love. But I must say, they were the most close couples who loved each other deep inside. And the most funny scenes were Dae-hyun getting afraid of ghosts to the point of thinking Saet-byul as a ghost, getting beatings from Saet-byul and getting so cutely jealous of Kang Ji-wook. It took most time for Dae-hyun to realize  that he is in love with Saet-byul. They even made cute codes about yes and no with fruits (too cute I must say that).

And lastly I would mention Dae-hyun was the biggest well wisher of Saet-byul as he tutored her so that she could complete high school and go to college. I would reccomend you to watch this kdrama when you are having a bad day want to watch something light.

It’s a highly recommended kdrama by me and it’s also Ji Chang-wook’s second drama after he returned from military (1st kdrama was  “Melting Me Softly”)

You are going to love the kdrama parodies which are shown in drama like, SKY Castle, Fiery Priest, The World Of The Married and from hit movie “Parasite”.

5.CHIP IN

“So What I Told You Might Not Be The Truth”.

Synopsis :-

“CHIP IN” is a mystery tracking drama about the fierce
battle of brains over tens of billions of won of property by a
famous artist.

Plot :-

A painter gets diagnosed terminally ill. On his 58 th birthday, he plans to share his last will and testament. His great legacy and immense fortune slowly draw out his family’s inner greed, causing a fierce mental battle amongst them. There are too many people around him who are only after his legacy; including his ex-wife, Ji Sul Young, who has taken care of him, Kim Ji Hye, a former mistress and mother to his daughter, and Dokko Chul, a son from a different father. They face different outcomes by the different choices they make as their greed overwhelms them. What are the limits of human greed?

Review :-

Unlike some ordinary Korean dramas which we watch daily, “CHIP IN” is totally different.

This drama starts with the protagonist of the story Yoo Bit-na, ( played by Kim
Hye-joon of Kingdom,)  who was going to her father’s house with her mother Kim Ji-hye, played by  Oh Na-ra (of SKY Castle) , in order to celebrate her father’s birthday. Here we come to know that Bit-na is actually a child who came out of wedlock and has a estranged relationship with her father.

Her mom is taking her to her father’s house forcefully as her father Yoo In-ho, ( played by Nam Moon-chul of Train, )decided to announce his will and as her father’s ex-wife didn’t have any heir, so Bit-na was his direct heir after him.

So from there we see that mom and daughter are having an argument about going to the party and also for the will. After this we see Yoo In-ho also called his step brother, who actually went to jail for five times due to fraud and one harassment case, his own brother’s son who is studying law and his friend who is his manager, his ex-wife who is a director and also lives with him, his step brother’s daughter who stays with them and his maid who has given service for so many years. And as the story progresses we see that everyone in the house hates each other and all are there because of the money which they will get from will.

Suddenly, the story takes a thrilling turn when everyone except for Bit-na receives an anonymous letter which has the copy of map of where the will is. Here comes the twist. That if anyone sees the will , their names will be cut off. And to get a sneak peek, all of them except
Bit-na and her cousin sister, all gives Yoo In-ho sleeping pills. Only to get the shock next day that he died. Now comes the detective part of the story. In order to uncover the truth, Bit-na and her cousin sister will work together to catch the killer.

Even though it was a short 8 episodes drama , I seriously enjoyed myself. I, myself, is a huge
detective stories fan. So I was very much hooked up on this drama. The drama covers not only crime, thriller genres, it also covers comedy genre. There are many scenes which will give us serious laugh like when the maid fought with Dook-chul and Kim Ji-hye. It also covers
tragedy genre too.

Basically it’s a dark comedy kdrama. This drama mainly showed that for legacy and money
even your closet family member can turn against you. They can even kill you just for money.

Second, not all we see is the truth. There’s always some hidden past which only
the individual knows.

Third, try to listen to everyone wholly otherwise we never really know who we might end up
getting hurt.

Lastly, money may bring you wealth, virtual pleasure and all but not happiness. Try to remain happy with whatever you have and always try to enjoy the moment.

6.Graceful Friends / Elegant Friends :-

“Even if our decision was wrong, we have an obligation to
protect that which is precious to us”.

Synopsis:-

each other for 20 years is suddenly broken when a murder
takes place.

intelligent and beautiful but hides a dark past from her husband. Jung-hae gets tangled in a blackmailing scheme.

Jung Jae-hoon is a divorced urologist with a wealthy family background. He lives alone and seems to have a mysterious side. He has a past connection to Nam Jung-hae, of which Ahn Goong-chul doesn;t know about.

Jo Hyung-woo is an adult film director who is often mockingly called the Bong Joon-ho of adult film industry. His dream is to become a mainstream big budget film director but never had any luck with it. He is married to Kang Kyung-ja who is a former adult film actress and now runs a luxurious bar. He is very depended on his wife income.

Kang Kyung-ja has a pro-golfer son named Kang Ji-wook.

Park Choon-bok is an insurance company worker and part-time foreign car dealership worker. His wife Yoo Eun-sil is a housewife and they have a daughter named Park Pu-reum. He looks comparatively older than his friends and wife, and people often mistake him as his daughter
grandfather. He struggles financially but his wife is very supportive.

Cheon Man-shik is a City Hall Tax Collection Division official with a wife and a teenage daughter. He is quiet and polite and suffers from depression. He and Ahn Goong-chul were roommates in college and consider each other best friends. He has been hiding a secret from his family and friends which is revealed only after his death.

Baek Hae-sook used to be friends with the five and they all used to have a crush on her in college. Due to some circumstances, she had to drop out of college and wasn't in touch with any of them until Man-shik's funeral. She bought a restaurant near the housing society where the five friends live, and seems to have a mysterious agenda.

Review:-

“Graceful Friends” or  “Elegant Friends” is not your everyday daily k-drama. As the plot says it’s a drama about friends who are in their late 40’s and 50’s and they are leading a peaceful life but here comes a twist when suddenly a murder takes place and this changes their lives forever.

Here in this seventeen episodes drama we will see who was murdered and why he was murdered and who murdered him! Also we will see about the college life of the five friends as at that time too a murder took place. While we see that how and all these murders happened, we also will get to see the hidden pasts of some of the characters.

This drama inevitably showed two main points. Firstly, family is our main priority. We can do anything to save our family even if we have to take the blame for something serious or even if we have to tamper evidence. Its something you have to do even if you are married and have your own family or even if you are not married and have parents.

Secondly, true friends are for life. If you have that kind of friend who is there for you through your thin and thick times then the same applies to you. For true friends we often go through hardest path so that we can support them. This kdrama overall showed the bond and strength of true friends who will at one time mock you and the next time will be there for you even in your hardest times.

At the end I would like to say that unlike school friends, the bond we create with college friends is totally deep and unbreakable. Now it’s up to some people who decides to break it and some decides to keep it for the rest of their lives.

To me, I will say that do keep the friendship. Because at the end of our days or lives we will keep remembering our college lives more than our school lives and we will always keep remembering those friends who made our college lives more lively and fun. And definitely keep missing them.

“Elegant Friends” or “Graceful Friends” is truly the greatest example of the true friendship bond which we in our generation need badly and even if we have that we keep misusing it.

Cherish the moments and try to keep up the communication. In this way, we also will have the back of our friends during the time when we are having hardest.

7.Hi, Bye Mama! :-

“ A man who lost his wife is called a widower. And a kid who
lost his parents is called an orphan. But there’s no word for a
parent who lost their kid. Do you know why? It’s because no
word can describe it. There’s no word in this world that can
describe the excruciating pain”.

Synopsis:-

Cha Yu-ri has been a ghost since she died in a tragic accident five years ago. Through a reincarnation project, she is given the possibility to become human again if she succeeds in going back to her place within 49 days. However, her husband is now remarried.

Plot:-

Hi Bye, Mama! is a story about Cha Yu Ri who suddenly died in a tragic accident while pregnant with her daughter, Cho Seo Woo. Their daughter was left to her husband, Cho Gang Hwa, and raised her alone.

After dying, Yu Ri didn’t leave Earth and choose to stay until her husband remarries, thus, she’s around her family as a ghost. Through a reincarnation project, Yu Ri was brought back to dead and was given 49 days as a human. She was also given a chance to be alive again if she succeeds in going back to her rightful place: her husband’s wife and her daughter’s mother. Now, this is a dilemma to Yu Ri: her husband is now married to a woman named Oh Min Jeong.

Review:-

Hi, Bye Mama! is a touching story of a mom who wants to get reunited with her 6 years old daughter whom she could not meet because she died in a car accident while saving her. The story begins with a flashback where Cho Gang-hwa is in medical college and does not want to meet his blind date. But somehow his friend succeeds and takes him in the restaurant where he meets Cha Yu-ri and they started to date immediately. After three years being together, Yu-ri proposes Gang-hwa and they got married. And we come back to the present with Yu-ri narrating that happiness does not last long even if you want to be and see that Gang-hwa with their daughter and another woman he remarried named Oh Min-
jeong.
We see Yu-ri as a wondering ghost, who always stays with her daughter Seo-woo. From there, we get to see how Yu-ri died and how she wishes to come back to life so that she can live with her daughter. Eventually she becomes a human with her given in hand 49 days to go back to her original place otherwise she would have to leave for heaven. She somehow becomes a human again. She reunites with her family, her best friend and her daughter and her husband. She even meets Min-jeong. Everyone, even her husband also agreed to make Yu-ri come back and give her original place i.e by making his wife. But Yu-ri realized that Min-jeong might be a
step mother but she just loves Seo-woo just like she loves her own daughter. Min-jeong also agreed to divorce Gang-hwa, but Yu-ri realized that her time on earth had ended a long time
back. And she tells Min-jeong she could not take back her place as she is too kind.

The drama ended with Yu-ri telling everyone goodbye to everyone and Yu-ri and Gang-hwa
spending last time with each other and with Seo-woo by going to an amusement park and clicking pictures. The last episode was such a heart breaking scene with Yu-ri telling Seo-woo to come to her again as her daughter again and finally Seo-woo hugging back telling her “Goodbye Mom”.

From there we see Yu-ri leaving by walking on a road filled with cherry blossom trees. Now, we see a glimpse of future where Seo-woo has grown up and sitting at a park and reading a book and Min-jeong and Gang-hwa, both aged and came to her as she promised both of them that she would walk with them and we see that Seo-woo has actually kept a picture of Yu-ri and Gang-hwa and her when they went to amusement park in the book.

All chatting happily. This kdrama has made me cry very much. As much viewers wanted Yu-ri not to leave, I would say that, Yu-ri made the right choice in the last episodes as she knew her staying in life will put Seo-woo in danger as she could see ghosts. Also, how can I forget that, Oh Min-jeong was the best step mother.

It really teaches us that unconditional love for children even if he or she is not related by blood can become your child too. That motherly love just go beyond to relationships that are formed by blood. Adoptive children too,are your actual children. A mother is a mother even though they are not related. Blood relation is not required.

She, throughout the drama has broken the myths and tales of what we know as
“evil step mom”. She decided to leave her nursing career behind and become a housewife just for Seo-woo, so that she does not grow up alone. Also Gang-hwa was an amazing lover who loved and will always love Yu-ri and he was someone who decides to co parent with Min-jeong and surprisingly they lived as partners in future just for Seo-woo.

Yu-ri’s mom was another one who played an amazing role.  It will just make you realize that life is vey short and we should enjoy every ounce of it, because you never know what may happen to anyone. At the very end of this I want to say what Yu-ri has said at the end of the episode :-

“When you go to Heaven, God will ask you two questions. If
you answer yes to both questions, you can be reborn as a
human in your next life. One question is, “Were you happy with
your life?”
The other question is, “Were other people happy
because of me?”
Let’s be reborn as humans and meet again in
the next life”.

It’s a highly recommended kdrama of 2020. And if you can handle sadness, then you should. And even if you can’t, still watch with your tissues and handkerchiefs.

8.Was It Love? :-

“You were my first love. I want you to be my last as
well”.

Synopsis:-

When four very different men appear in her life, a single mother
who hasn’t dated in years begins to rediscover love – and
herself.

Plot:-

Noh Ae-jeong is a single mother with a strong survival instinct who has been single for 14 years. All of a sudden, four men who appeal to her in different ways appear in her life. She had
past friendships and relationships with three out of four of these men before her pregnancy.

Oh Dae-oh is a bad but attractive man, Ryu Jin is pathetic but handsome and rich, Goo Pa-do
who is scary and sexy, and Oh Yeon-woo is a flirty young man.

Review:-

“Was It Love?” is an amazing k-drama about how a struggling single mom is trying hard to live and give a good life to her pre teen daughter. The drama starts with how Noh Ae-jeong has been interviewing every production company only to get rejected and she is interviewing “Thumb Nail” production house as the last one of the day and she’s describing how she will
love to chase her dreams and also wants her daughter to see this and yaay, she gets the job and is seen cutting the Christmas cake with her mom and her daughter.

Then comes the present day and Noh Ha-nee has been transferred to a new school and Noh Ae-jeong got a debt left by her manager. From this comes a crazy journey where Noh Ae-jeong meets her ex boyfriend Oh Dae-oh who became a writer with a pen name Cheon Ok-man, Ryu Jin, who was her senior in college and had a crush on her, became a successful actor, Goo Pa-do, who owns Nine Capital , a financial house and also her debt collector and also the one who decides to pay for the production of film “Was It Love?” and Yeon-woo, Ha nee's basketball teacher and Ae-jeong's close junior friend who has a long time crush on Ae-jeong.

The drama explores with Ae-jeong’s relationship with the four men and Ha-nee's quest of searching her biological dad.

Slowly, the truth comes out about who is Ha-nee’s real dad and also why Ae-jeong and Dae-oh broke up before. Dae-oh realizing that because of a misunderstanding he was 14 years apart from Ae-jeong and their daughter and decides to stay beside both of them.

Ha-nee, at first, wasn’t much fond of her biological dad and was upset with him but when she saw that how her dad risked his life and saved her and also saw how her mom is still very much deeply in love with him, realized that he is someone she could rely him with her mom.

And lastly we see Oh Dae-oh again changed his pen name and wrote about their lover story in his new book “My Last Love”. Both Dae-oh and Ae-jeong who got separated from each other for some years again due to false rumours, got reunited.

The story ends up with Ha-nee marrying her childhood friend Goo Dong-chan, Goo Pa-do's adopted son.

I loved this kdrama mainly because of  the deep relationship which was shown between Ae-jeong and the four leads.

I loved Ae-jeong and Ha-nee’s mother – daughter relationship. I also really loved how Ha-nee always thought about her mom. Yes, there were some rough times shown but ultimately Ae-jeong always had Ha-nee’s back.

Ae-jeong’s mom was a really supportive mom to her whether about single handedly raising Ha-nee, or looking out for Dae-oh and telling him how Ae-jeong was raised without her father as he died and also comforting her daughter at the end of the day.

Ae-jeong’s only friend Suk-hee was another person who dearly loved Ae-jeong and she was the only person who understood her in every way. She was the only person who stood beside Ae- jeong during her darkest times and decided to offer her home as we have seen Suk-hee had a miscarriage and when she saw Ae-jeong's daughter and her mom and her she decided to take them with her.

She was indeed a true friend. I really liked the transition of every four male leads. All started as a different person but all changed at the end.

9.Oh My Baby:-

“It’s nice to have a husband who can be your friend your entire
life and have two sons and two daughters together.”

Synopsis:-

Jang Ha-ri is a 39-year-old single woman and a workaholic who has not been in a relationship for over 10 years but wants to have a baby of her own. Just when she has given up on love
and marriage, three men appear in front of her.

Plot:-

Aged 39, Jang Ha Ri is the ultimate workaholic. She hasn’t even had a boyfriend in the past decade, she long ago decided to forget about looking for love, and instead has thrown her
energy into her career.

However, as she works as a senior reporter for a parenting magazine named “The Baby,” she is
constantly reminded of the one thing she wants most in life – to have a baby of her own. She decides to cut to the chase and try for a baby but wants to skip one key stage – and resolves
not to marry.

But as she turns her mind to single parenthood, she suddenly realizes that she is surrounded by admirers: freelance photographer Han Yi Sang, super-smart pediatrician Yoon Jae Young, and the office newbie, the doting Choi Kang Eu Ddeum.

Could any of these three love candidates help Jang Ha Ri in her quest to become a mother? And could her quest inadvertently send her on the path to true love?

Review:-

“Oh My Baby” is quite a motherly drama of 2020.

The story revolves around how Jang Ha-ri wanted to get pregnant before getting married as she is turning old. But recently she went to hospital for her sperm counting check up and also later having serious bad period cramps she got admitted to hospital where the doctor told her that she has a very low chance of getting pregnant. Heart broken and sad she decided to give up on having baby but there appears three men in her life and the story starts.

All three men – Han Yi-sang, Yoon Jae-young and Choi Kang Eu-tteum all decided to help
Ha-ri to be sperm donator and give her baby. As the story progresses, we see, Yoon Jae-young started to develop a feeling for his friend Ha-ri and she and Yi-sang starts to rekindle their relationship as they did not hit off well before mainly because of Yi-sang. Kang Eu-tteum always liked aunt Ha-ri so he was also ready to give her baby but Ha-ri rejected him.

At the end of the drama we see that Ha-ri rejected her friend and decided to move on with Yi-sang but Yi-sang started to have doubts that he may fail in taking of Ha-ri and will not be
able to give her baby. But he changed his mind when he saw an elderly couple sitting in park and realized that he will not be able to live alone forever and needs Ha-ri in his life and they
reunite.

We see that both Yi-sang and Ha-ri are lovey dovey couple who are discussing that whether they should try for having a baby. And yes, Ha-ri becomes pregnant and mom later on at the end.

The drama mainly centres around Jang Ha-ri and her excessive love for baby. There are many ups and downs in Ha-ri’s way on becoming a mother.I will say that this drama tried to show us that we should not say that “I don’t want a baby” because my body shape will change or it’s an
excessive baggage. We should accept the little ones who come to our life as a bundle of joy. I really loved Jang Na-ra’s role as playing the role of a woman who loves baby because she
played that kind of role before in 2014’s MBC drama “You are my destiny” or “Fated to love you”.

I really loved how her role developed in the latter parts of this drama i.e from adamantly wanting a baby to telling Yi-sang that when the time gets on right track she will have a baby and if she can’t get pregnant, she will adopt. I really also loved Yi-sang’s transition from living a celibate to living as a married man.

10.Hyena:-

close”.

Armed with the strongest survival instincts, she endures through it all. Yoon Hee- jae is a successful, elite lawyer. Confident in his abilities, he possesses a brilliant mind that is wrapped around his ego.

Using his skills to support the highest in the land, he’s an expert at maneuvering the law to cater to their needs.

Review:-

One of my favourite k-drama of 2020. “Hyena” is a kind of political and courtroom kdrama. This kdrama, you will see, deals with many cases of “rich class”. You will see a little bit of love between the leads. To me, “Hyena” is a woman empowerment drama.

Why I said that? Because the way Kim Hye-soo portrayed her role as Jang Geum-ja is really amazing. Ju Ji-hoon was also looking very hot as a prosecutor. This drama mainly tried to show us that not only in political field but also in every other fields, there is a neck to neck competition in order to survive.

In every episodes we will see how both Kim Hye-soo and Ju Ji-hoon fight with each other so that they could get the case. They even go to the extremes i.e by sabotaging each other.

But this kdrama also teaches us something that not every work could be done alone. Teamwork is a must. So at the end we will also see how both the leads team up and solve the cases. In totality, it’s a kdrama about teamwork and how teamwork helps in winning every work, even if the work is tough.

11.Meow, The Secret Boy

“I can’t help it. I am a dog. A dog that…fell for a cat.”

Synopsis:-

Sol-A is a woman in her mid 20's and works for a graphic design company. She dreams of becoming a webcomic artist and she is a sociable person. Sol-A happens to take home a
cat, Hong-Jo. Sol-A is unaware that Hong-Jo is not an ordinary cat. He has the ability to transform into a human being. Living with the cat Hong-Jo, Sol-A gets involved in unexpected cases.

Plot :-

A graphic designer in her mid-twenties, Sol Ah harbors dreams of becoming a web-based comic author and has always had a love-hate relationship with cats. But Sol Ah’s life changes fast when she brings home a friendly feline.

It turns out, however, that this is not any old cat. Named Hong Jo, he can take human
form. Hong Jo becomes exceptionally fond of Sol Ah, and goes
to great pains to hide his human identity from her. He soon proves that he will do anything that is required in order to stay near her.

Will Hong Jo manage to keep his identity a secret? And what could be in store for this remarkable feline-human duo as their relationship deepens?

Review:-

‘Meow, the Secret Boy” is one of light rom – com drama of 2020. But I really feel sad that it actually has become the lowest rated k-drama in the history. I, myself, really liked this drama. I loved how Kim Myung-soo or as we know him as “INFINITE’s L” just amazingly transformed from a white cat to a human. This drama is about a feline-human relationship. As the story
started we see Sol-ah is an architect but dreams about becoming a webtoon artist and she obviously hates cats. She got her heart broken too by her first love by Jae-sun.

As the story progresses Hong-jo in his cat form was wandering in the streets and was unwell. Soon Sol-ah and her colleagues and all try to find shelter for him, but instead he ends up going Sol-ah’s home. From then onwards, Hong-jo and Sol-ah starts to live together and even moved to new house together because her father wanted to move to countryside with his girlfriend and because he is sick too. Things started to take turn when she moved into the neighbourhood where her first love Jae-su has opened a cafĂ© and also staying there.

Well they start, to argue after sometime because Sol-ah is incapable of taking care of Hong-jo. But there we see that both of them have lingering feelings for one another. Now, here Hong-jo is trying very hard to hide his human version to Sol-ah because he fears that she might abandon him. But after sometime she finds out the truth and they start to spend more time together making Sol-ah to fall in love with Hong-jo. And to give a one last test, Sol-ah finds
out that Hong-jo can’t transform anymore and like this two years pass by making Sol-ah a webtoon writer, Jae-su realizing that he should have gone to his father for last time and Hong-jo, in his cat version, is still staying with Sol-ah.

We see, Sol-ah telling to Hong-jo that she would love to see him again, it does not matter to her if he comes as a wrinkly man and viola, Hong- jo in his human form comes to her again and they are smiling at each other.

I think that the story should have focused more on Sol-ah and Hong-jo rather than focusing on her relationship with first love and also on the second couple leads Eun Ji-eun and Ko
Doo-sik.

Yes, it was good to see how Ji-eun and Doo-sik fall in love and etc but I think that as it is a light rom-com drama, it should have focused more on main leads. I may have loved the
leads but there were sometimes where I  got annoyed.

The drama itself became the lowest rated k-drama in Korean cable channel viewership history. The plot line was entirely messed up at some episodes. I dropped the drama at the end. If you want to watch this k-drama for some fun you can and if you are a pet lover then surely do watch but for me it’s a no.

12.When I Was The Most Beautiful

“If you love her more, even if she isn’t yours, even if you can’t have all of her, one day, you will be grateful that she lives under the same sky.”

Synopsis:-

The drama tells the story Oh Ye-Ji, an art student who dreams of becoming a ceramic artist. She heads to school in Yangpyeong as both a student and a teacher, where she meets
brothers Seo Hwan and Seo Jin. Hwan, who is Ye Ji's student, falls in love with her and takes her to his father's workshop to confess his feelings.

However, at the workshop, Ye Ji meets Jin. Although Jin is aware of Hwan's feelings toward Ye Ji, Jin does not hesitate to win over Ye Ji's heart and eventually gets engaged to her. Overnight, those who are meant to be each other's strongest supporters end up becoming the worst enemies thanks to a twist of fate. Straddling desire and love, the three struggle to figure out what's right during the most beautiful of their lives.

Plot:-

Oh Ye Ji is a ceramic artist. She has a pure heart and relentless optimism and refuses to give up no matter the situation. She dreams of finding ordinary happiness but in a cruel twist of fate gets caught in a love triangle with two brothers, Seo Hwan and Seo Jin. Seo Hwan, an architectural designer, is an innocent young man who falls in love with Oh Ye Ji at first sight.

His feelings put him at odds with his older brother Seo Jin, but he can’t let go of his fateful first love. Seo Jin is a race car driver and the leader of his rally team. He is cool and reserved on the outside but is ruthless in the pursuit of what he desires. When he meets Oh Ye Ji for the first time at his father’s workshop, he instinctually feels attracted to her.

Carry Jung, described as a femme fatale, is Seo Jin’s ex-girlfriend and marketing partner. She is charismatic, but she is also intensely jealous over her ex-lover and has a selfish and egoistic streak. She feels passionate love for Seo Jin, whose rally team she used to sponsor, and is unable to let go of him even after they break up.

Review :-

One of the most toxic k-dramas of 2020. At first the story was going on good with Seo-hwan falling in love with his teacher and his brother also falling in love with Ye-ji and creating a love
triangle.

And that continues even after Jin marries Ye-ji and his brother Hwan couldn’t accept that fact. But things become messier when Jin became paralyzed due to an accident he
faced while car racing. And this made him disappear for some years making Ye-ji feel like her husband died.

Hwan tried to take advantage of the situation but failed as his older brother
returns again and truth comes out that he was living with his ex girlfriend Carry Jung . The story line indeed is messiest one.

The drama totally shows us what toxicity and obsession is. I watched the drama and from day one everyone is obsessed with everyone. I feel sorry for Amber (played by Stephanie Lee) because she was being used by Hwan and I know later in the series her heart will be broken. Hwan and Jin are both obsessed with Ye-ji. I just wish Ye-ji to move forward by cutting ties with that messed up family. It’s totally a not highly recommended drama by me. It will just definitely be a time waste to watch the whole toxic drama.

13.Born Again

Synopsis :-

Born Again tells the story of three reincarnated souls that have been intertwined together by fate. In the 1980s, Gong Ji-chul (Jang Ki-yong) was a lone wolf who defies his evil father and an elite medical student in the present.

In the 1980s, Jung Ha-eun (Jin Se-yeon) was the owner of a used bookstore "Old Future." Unfortunately, she has suffered congenital cardiomyopathy and could die at any moment.

In the present-day, she is archaeologist who uncovers the skeletal remains of the
nameless, and restores their stories to them. In the 1980s, Cha Hyung-bin (Lee Soo-hyuk) was a detective who loves only one person and in the present is a prosecutor who believes in 'criminal gene'. The three become involved in a passionate love triangle that endures beyond death and time.

Plot :-

Life, death and second chances take center stage in this story about three people whose intertwined destinies travel through space and time with haunting results.

It’s the 1980s and Detective Cha Hyung Bin has devoted his life to criminal justice, and his heart to Ha Eun, a bookshop owner suffering from heart disease who keeps her illness a secret. But Cha Hyung Bin isn’t the only one pining after Ha Eun: serial killer Gong Ji Chul has also fallen in love with her. Their lives collide with tragic results, but 30 years later, they’re reincarnated and fate brings them together again. The more time passes, the more their new lives become tangled in the devastating web of history. Will they manage to escape the past, or be forced to come face to face with it?

Review :-

Another messy drama of 2020. This drama started with a good plot and storyline and let me tell you, it could have become one of the most viewed dramas but the story got totally messed up at the second half. The storyline was great with reincarnation and all and to whom Ha-eun will fall in love whether with her past life’s lover or to the one who has admired her since past
life.

The story started to get totally messed up when Ha-eun started to go back and forth to both the guys. Also, it was shown both the guys who in the past lives were a serial killer
and a detective, in this life replaced each other with Ji-chul who was a serial killer became a detective and Hyung-bin who was a detective became a best selling author here. Kind of soul
swap happened here as they look the same only and Ji-chul is the author and Hyng-bin as the detective. As I said soul swapped between them And some kind of things happened in history also started to happen in present tangling all three of them to face it with at the end making Ji-chul kind of going into coma and with Ha-eum choosing Ji-chul same like as she
chose him in past when he was Hyung-bin over Hyung-bin because he got rejected in past too as he was Ji-chul in past. It remains open-ended with we don’t quite get whether Ji-chul
has come out from his coma as he was seen standing outside the bookstore and smiling at Ha-eun. Well, as I have said, it’s totally a dramatic and messed up plot and I especially hated the
fact that she literally played with two boys and she wasn’t even deciding up until the end that whom she will choose. Would not recommended drama this kdrama.

14.Kkondae Intern/Old School Intern

Synopsis:

After graduation, Ka Yeol-Chan landed his first job at a company. His boss there, Lee Man-Shik, was a “kkondae” which refers to a rigid, old school type of person. He would force his old school ways of thinking on Ka Yeol-Chan. Due to Lee Man-Sik and his old school ways of thinking, Ka Yeol-Chan quit his job there. Ka Yeol-Chan then found a job at a ramen company.

He worked very hard and was promoted unusually quickly, due to his radical planning and aggressive marketing. Ka Yeol-Chan now works as the chief of the sales and marketing
department at the ramen company. His position actually wields the most power in the company.

One day, Ka Yeol-Chan gets a senior age intern. That intern is Lee Man-Shik, who gave him such a hard time at his first job.

Plot:

Kkondae Intern is an office comedy that depicts a man’s delightful revenge on his previous boss who is also the worst manager. Ka Yeol-chan had a bad internship experience because of a nasty and an overbearing boss. He quits his job and starts working in a ramen company.

With his sheer hard work, he develops a chicken noodle which becomes a top product and gets elevated to the position of a general manager. Lee Man-sik is a manager at Ongol Ramen Department, and has a reputation as a “terror senior”. After 30 years in the company, he
loses hope of being promoted to an executive position before retirement. So he takes and passes the Senior Internship at Junsu Food.

A reversal of fate occurs and now Lee Man-sik starts working as an intern at the same company and is assigned under Ka Yeol-chan.

Review:-

“Kkondae Intern” is basically one of the office comedy dramas of 2020. The story starts with Park Hae-jin being an intern at a company where Kim Eung-soo is the manager and both of them have a very bad relationship, I mean the boss hates the intern as he is “old schooled” or “kkondae” meaning he is a stubborn one to the extent that the intern gets humiliated by the boss and he leaves the job.

Now about 2 years passed and he now works at the company where his value gets seen and becomes manager and basically he’s the rich person and we also see the ex old manager where he has become old and doesn’t get promotion to the point that he leaves his job, does security work and land on being the intern of the company where his old intern is the manager and both of them see that they have a reversal role. This is a comedy drama as many scenes are there where both of them have cat and mouse relationship.

But at the end both of them realized their mistake and reconcile. We will also get to see many many funny scenes here like Park Hae-jin getting rejected in a funny way. This is a 12 episodes drama and a highly recommended by me.

which propelled him to succeed at an early age. While his handsome looks captured many women's hearts, he only shows interest in Hyun Joo.

Park Do Gyum is a webtoon artist who has been friends with Hyun Joo since they were young. Who will be the one to win her over?

Review:-

One of the most clichĂ©d kdramas of 2020. The drama mainly deals with a single girl who finds herself luck less in case of love despite being successful.
So she started to think that all guys are same but what she didn’t know is that two men already have a crush on her and both of them in their own way are trying to win her heart.

Now it is her choice who to accept. As I said it’s a clichĂ©d drama and it’s enjoyable and relaxing to watch.
A romantic comrdy kdrama for all single people like me who will understand how our lucks are very bad in case of love. Anyway, a must watch kdrama and highly recommended by me.
