When two siblings stumble on a strange hole in the wall of their grandparents’ house, horrifying incidents reveal sinister secrets about their family. ( Wikipedia )
TRAILER:
PLOT: (With spoilers):
The story starts with two siblings who live with their mother, one is Pim the sister played by Sutatta Udomsilp and Put the brother who wears a leg braceby Nattapat Nimjirawat.
They show us that Put is with his classmate playing video games at home and when his sister comes home and goes to her room she catches the friend peeping in her room, when she goes to close the door the friend does not even look embarrassed or shows any shame.
The brother tries to tell him off but he shows him a video and threatens to release it, its later revealed that it was a video of Pim taking a bath at school.
Movie moves along and we see that the mother is injured in a car accident with a drunk driver.
The kids then have to live with their grandparents for a short period of time, but the old couple keeps acting weird. When the kids go to their house they see the hole in the wall, upon looking into it they see a really weird kid who is throwing up blood and the grandparents pretend there is no hole and ask the kids to stop with the pranks. The movie moves quite slow , the kids Putt and Pim notice more and more into the hole and it appears to be revealing them a version of their family's past, a scary little kid holding a little girl and a very drunk man slouched on the sofa.
A lot of things happen like the friend who had the video in his phone forget his phone at the place and Pim and Put finding it, the grandfather going to the cops to find out who was driving the car the night the mother met with an accident, not believing the cops when they tell him that the rich spoiled kid was not the driver, the grandfather going and killing him, the grandmother having panic attacks in the middle of the night and finally revealing that she too, can see the hole in the wall.
The mom is now out of coma and runs home to the kids once she finds out where they are, she looks scared and in a hurry. Now this is the only part of the movie that seems interesting where the (W) hole truth is revealed.
The mother Mai was married to Krit the guy that the kids saw earlier slouched on the sofa, Pinya the scary kid from the hole was their first born.
We see a flashback where the father Krit is drinking and the kid Pinya asks him if he wants to play hide and seek, he agrees and she goes hides in the small cupboard under the stairs, the father then passes out as he was drunk.
The rest of the family returns home and when they find Pinya in the cupboard they see that she drank the rat poison inside and was dead due to Krit's neglect.
This was the revelation, but the movie takes on the 2nd plot twist rule and we find out that Pinya didn’t die because of Krit, of course he was wrong to not handle his kid properly but it was the grandmother behind the killing, she keeps on giving milk to Pinya in which she would put a bit of poison and always treated her rudely. When Pinya had hidden in the cupboard, the grandmother was the one who had locked the cupboard from outside, and when Pinya was taken out, she had coughed blood and ended up dying there.
We see also see that the grandmother used to always force Put to drink the milk but never gave it to Pim. The grandmother had a problem with deformities running in their family. Pinya was born with physical defects, which caused her grandmother to despise her. The grandmother never considered Pinya a member of her family. She regarded Putt in the same light as her. Pim was the ideal match for her. She had wished for her grandchildren to be just like Pim. That is why she never had a problem with her and instead began serving poisoned milk to Putt every day.
Chaiyut the rich spoiled kid was really not driving the car, a revelation that is made to the grandfather in the end. It comes as a big shock to the grandfather, who had acted before knowing the whole truth.
In the end, we see that the grandfather starts to see Krit in his hallucinations and ends up killing his wife as he thinks its Krit, he realizes that his wife, he ends up killing himself.
she was the one who killed her husband, krit. And make it like it's his dad who killed him. U can see she took the gun from her father pocket and shoot him.
Review (with spoilers):
For starters, the horror on this movie is at least 3 out of 10 so for horror seekers looking for the screams and heart racing, this might not be your cup of tea.
If you just want a light horror to watch, I recommend this. This can be a good horror for a beginner. For me the story is decent enough for this to be worth the watch
The story is definitely a slow burn. A lot of scenes and the way they react to the things happening around them don't make sense. Acting is barely tolerable but still decent. If you watch it, you'll get what I mean.
It's not bad. The problem was the direction and how the storytelling is presented. It could have been better.
Speaking of the hole, every scene that presented the effects and styling was just ridiculous.
1. The sister was not worried at all about her videos getting leaked that doesn't happen in real world.
2. No one cared about brother's health throughout the movie.
3. No one went to search for missing cat but definitely they were worrying about it. (That makes no sense)
4. The children didn't even visit their sick mother in the hospital.
5. The pervert guy didn't even came looking for his lost phone and never appeared again in the movie again.
6. The grandparents were that easily forgiven or what was that?? They could have easily reveal the truth about their daughter being the killer but no that bad twist needs to be revealed at the end. For thrill, I guess.
What I liked on this movie though is that most of the questions about the main plot has been answered. I really like movies that gives me peace of mind after I watch them so it kind of get better for me towards the end. The revelations are just mind blowing. It was definitely unexpected.
Overall, way too long for a story like this. Some plotlines were not needed and did not bring much to the story at all. It had its moments, and I cannot say I dislike every minute of it, but these few scenes that were interesting were not worth watching the whole 2 hour movie.
The narrative talks about the two-faced reality of life. How it is always important to know the situation in its entirety and then only react to it. We have a habit of passing judgment even before we understand the situation completely. Sometimes, our actions are not retractable, and the damage caused is permanent in nature.
Hello, Love, Goodbye (Pinoy Movie)
Synopsis:
Joy is a spunky, down-on-her-luck millennial who works as a domestic helper in Hong Kong. She excels at her profession and enjoys the company of many other strong domestic servants, but she intends to leave the city shortly.
Joy encounters Filipino bartender Ethan on her way to attaining her ambitions. Ethan is a lovely playboy who has already established himself in Hong Kong. He will formally become a city resident in a few years. Ethan, who has spent his entire avoiding obligations, now wants to devote himself to a profession and his family (who also reside in Hong Kong). Joy and Ethan quickly become friends. Against the muck and grind of Hong Kong, the two become each other's joy.
Trailer:
Plot: (With spoilers)
The movie revolves around Joy played by the beautiful Kathryn Bernardo who leaves the Philippines to aim for a better life for her and her family back home. She works as a Domestic Helper but her dream is to become a licensed nurse and wants to go Canada and bring her family with her.
Ethan, played by Alden Richards, a Filipino Bartender in Hong Kong is someone who is carefree and is termed as a playboy by his friends.
Ethan starts to pursue Joy.
Joy's family background shows that Joy's Father had Joy's mother marry a guy from Hong Kong so she can later become a citizen and help the rest of her family come to Hong Kong. The guy who Joys mother is married to is abusive to her but Joys mother does not plan on leaving him anytime soon as she felt betrayed by Joys Father.
Joy has two siblings who rely on the money she sends home for their school and other expenses.
In Hong Kong Joy has two friends who are also domestic workers and all three of them are quite close. They sell items illegally as a side hustle to earn more money. In the start of the movie we see that Joy's cousin also comes to Hong Kong as a domestic worker.
Joy only has 4 more months left in her contract with her employer but her employer wants to fire her as she is having financial problems but when Joy tells her she is ready to work even at half salary her employer agrees.
With so much going on in her life Joy feels she doesn't have time for love but as Ethan keeps on pursuing her she eventually starts to fall for him.
Ethan's family background shows that his mother had died and his father came to Hong Kong became a bar owner and a resident of the country. During this time Ethan fell in love with a girl named Tanya. She wanted to move to US and Ethan left everything to move with her but soon she broke up with him and Ethan was deported from the states for over staying.
Ethan's brother Edward resented him for leaving his family and leaving all the responsibility on him.
Despite everything they both fall for each other but with Joy leaving for Canada will their love survive?
Review:
This movie was recommended to me by my filipin friend and co worker, and I loved it. The film is for when you want to watch a light yet meaningful romcom. It showcases the struggles of people who leave their home country for a better life and how they find love amongst all the chaos.
The story takes place in Hong Kong and the aesthetics make the movie even better. We see a young immigrant woman's struggle to follow her dream in a foreign country while supporting her family back home and carrying emotional burden of her family's issues.
A man trying to pickup and get his life back on track again, while everyone around him has moved ahead.
Both meet and fall in love, but what's next? Joy has to make a choice where she has to choose to stay with Ethan or get her dream job in Canada for the life she dreams of.
I love how it wasn't a typical kind of happy ending.
Love isn't about giving up something for someone else. Sacrifice entails the loss of something, whereas love does not. It's all about who you are at the end of the day.
Joy must convey this to Ethan, as well as the implications of not pursuing her dream, in all her wisdom. Ethan, thankfully, finally understands and is able to do what only love can: let go. Love stops being love the moment you try to cling on to it.
We're delivering a sharp and not-so-pleasant representation of life for many immigrants striving to survive. Some people are capable of doing so. Some are unable to do so like Joy's cousin who goes back to Philippines, admitting that this wasn't what she wanted.
As an international student in a foreign country this film made me feel seen, the lesson could be that you can only properly look after yourself and not lose sight of your own dreams if you take care of yourself.
If you persevere, you will have gained more profound wisdom about life than most people will ever have.
I will remember this film for a long long time as it interestingly walks down the complex lanes of lives, ambitions, frustration, failures and moreover fightbacks in a highly relatable manner. Looking forward to more such films from Asia.
Hope you enjoy the movie as much as I did!
Thanks to my friend for introducing this movie to me!

4. The Sinner (2017 - )
Plot :

Review :
This show is a lot different from the crime drama shows, I have ever seen. This show has a very deep mystery encrypted in each season, that is never predictable. The darkness of the show and characters feels addictive and forces you to go on binge-watching spree. Detective Harry Ambrose is one of the most well written characters, you will encounter. There’s something really fresh about ordinary people commiting brutal crimes.
5. Broadchurch (2013 – 2017)

Crimes in a small town, affect the families and people living there while the police tries to solve the cases.
Review :
Broadcurch is a critically acclaimed British Crime Drama Show. This show is a must watch coz of it very unconventional approach to tell the story of the town affected rather than the just focussing on the investigation. It is a Crime Drama in the true sense. Huge Credit goes to creators for the detailng in the show that makes it even more convincing and watchable.

When a teenage girl is murdered in Alaska, a police detective is handed the task to solve the murder mystery. Soon, he gets involved in a psychological war with the killer.
Review :
Christopher Nolan’s second feature, is an underrated crime drama despite of the talented actors in it. Although this movie is inspired from the 1997 original, but Nolan doesn’t fail to add his magic to the film. Apart from the very beautiful location and brilliant plot of the film, what stood out to me was the editing. The editing was very dynamic and perfectly done.Robin Williams and Al Pacino were both brilliant. Check this movie out, coz Nolan never disappoints.
7. Vikram Vedha (2017)
Plot :
When Vikram, a policeman, tries to catch a gangster Vedha, he is forced to solve a mystery through the conversations between him and vedha.
Review :
Vikram Vedha is a brilliant film to come out of the Tamil-Film Industry. It was blessed by amazing performance by R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. This Crime Drama hooks the audience from the very first scene and that credits to the brilliant screenplay. The Cinematography is also something that is worth the notice. It is a gem of a movie that is not to be missed.
8. American Hustle

A con artists tries to team with FBI to bring down corrupted congressmen, putting lives of everyone he knows in danger along with himself.
Review:
The starcast in this movie alone made me watch the entire 2 hours movie. The amazing and brilliant performances by all these actors is spectacular. There isn't a lot to unravel in this movie however the fashion, style and glamour of it all is to die for!! I liked the movie - a one time watch for me. However, I still don't know the ending of the fishing story..
9. Seven
Synopsis:
A new detective moves to a new city and partners up with soon to retire detective to solve a case of serial killer whose motive was to kill people with seven deadly sins.

David Fincher did a splendid job in this movie. The partnership between Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman speaks out. The story goes along quite well. The movie contains some graphic scenes, gruesome murders including the wife's - I knew that was coming!! I liked how both of them had different personalities yet working hard towards solving the case. Overall, it was an amazing experience watching this movie!
10. Zodiac
Synopsis:
A cartoonist finds himself obsessed with a case that his colleagues were working on, which doesn't bode well for him and his family.

When everyone is scratching their head to find this murder, Jake Gyllenhaal helps them out by using his puzzle solving skills so much so, that he becomes completely obsessed with it. I loved his performance in this! Such an underrated actor!!
11. Drishyam
Synopsis:
Everything goes upside down for a happy family when they are accused of killing IG's son. To save his family, GeorgeKutty goes beyond his boundaries.
Review:
GeorgeKutty being a 10th fail, has an astounding brain, manipulating the police into thinking other than what happened. But, IG of the police is smart too, she quickly finds out about his game - painting a picture that never happened in reality. This is once such movie that blew my mind. Review:
This movie is a must watch for suspense lovers! It keeps you hooked up until the end. It's a web of lies and misguidance to prove oneself right even when it's not the case. This movie was a remake of the Spanish movie - The Invisible Guest. The end was pretty mind-blowing!

Review:
The film has a strong storyline. Everyone in his family has a motive to get him killed. The movie has a comedic element as well, which makes this movie all the more enjoyable. And what a savage ending!...
The movies listed below is clichéd romantic comedy movies to watch when you are feeling low or just want to pass some time, take a break. Some of these movies are highly cringey! :P
1. To All The Boys I Loved Before
Summary:
When Lara Jean finds herself attracted to boys, she writes a letter to them without posting it. Her sister then mischievously posts those letter without asking.
Review:
This movie is nice, no doubt. But my opinion is - it's cringey. Some parts were good, it was fun and relatable. It's good for a one time watch. There's a part 3 coming next year. I liked the 1st part more than the 2. The bar is low here. And oh, it won an award for the best kiss....
2. The Kissing Booth
Summary:
Elle and Lee are best friends. But Elle falls for Lee's brother Noah which in turn creates a turmoil between the friends.
Review:
This movie franchise is - (finding different words for cringe is difficult) cringe :p. Elle and Lee's friendship has rules that aren't supposed to be broken, if broken face consequences. Honestly, does this happen in real life? Do you have rule books for friendship? Let us know in the comments. Part one was okay, part two was not okay. Didn't like it. Elle still goes with Noah, knowing Marco is a better option for her? What's that about? #teammarco
3. Perfect Date
Summary:
Brooks create an application to offer as a fake date to girls who needs it. His motive to do so was to earn so that he can go to his dream college.
Review:
The movie is okay-ish. Brooks wants to go to his favorite college and that's why he creats an app to act like a date for girls. But when one such order comes, he falls for her instead. The motive - good, the strategy - not good. One time watch worthy.
4. Sierra Bergers Is A Loser:
Summary:
Sierra is an unpopular kid who wants to make a name for herself. She develops feelings for Jamey. She asks her popular friend Veronica for help.
Review:
One time watch, again. Girls, boys and non binaries, let me tell you something - you don't have to follow the ridiculous beauty standards set by patriarchal society, to be accepted as a human being. Be yourself. The somewhat-lesson we get from this movie. Overall I can say that it's cliché and predictable, but watchable.
5. Love, Simon
Summary:
Simon is a high school boy with secrets. He shares his secret with an anonymous online, only for it be leaked to the entire school.
Review:
In true fashion, saved the best for the last. This movie is not cringey don't worry! I loved it because of its simplicity and relatability. I've seen it a couple of times and yet I don't get tired of it. Overall, it's warm, raw, realistic and emotional. Definitely must watch, at least once.
Notable mentions.
The Half Of It:
Summary:
Ellie Chu is an introverted girl who helps Paul to woo a girl in their school. Ellie and Paul both are attracted to Aster.
Review:
They don't make movies like this. It's warm and touching. Ellie and Paul both falls for the same girl. It also covers about some prevailing issues like immigration difficulties that are faced by immigrants on a daily basis in the US. This coming of age movie is definitely a must watch for every teen out there.
While writing this, I realised all the movies that I selected for this list were Netflix originals. (Except for Love, simon but it's not cringey anyway) So I guess you can say netflix has a way with the most cringe content always.
There are more movies in the same spectrum. I chose these because its wildly popular and most talked about movies. Feel free to recommend me more movies because even if it's cringy, I always survive the experience.

I'm new to this genre that's why my picks are less but many more to come in future blogs because I have absolutely adored the genre.
Let's begin....
1.Run lola run (1998)
Synposis -
This German Thriller explores 3 possible scenarios of how a particular event turns out to be based on the decisions lola makes.. Lola has 20 minutes to bring a large sum of money to his boyfriend who has lost the money that's supposed to be delivered to his boss..
Review -
Besides the butterfly effect being the main theme of this movie, the narrative style also conveys the concept of parallel timelines / multiverse - giving the satisfaction of a timetravel fiction without actually using any timetravel tricks at plot. Movie serves as a visual treat too with the main female lead running in the roads at her maximum speed for most part of the movie
2. In the tall grass (2019)
Synopsis -
This Canadian supernatural horror drama film is based on a novel written by Stephen King and Joe Hill, revolves around 2 families stuck inside a field of tall grass which behaves abornmal in terms of space and time.
Review
This movie is a rare combination of horror merged with timetravel. Some of the scenes are creepy and so disturbing to be qualified as a class A supernatural horror which stands out from the usual.. Brace yourself for the ending.. Recommended to watch this movie in dark at night..
3.The wave (2019)
Synopsis
Plot revolves around Frank who pretty much lived a normal life steps out of this track for one night that changes his life.. When a celebration night takes an unexpected turn when he decides to take a highly hallucinating drug, he unlocks some secrets of the universe and non linear nature of time..
Review
It's not for everyone, may seem unconvincing to people who live inside their box. This is one of those psychadelic movies with powerful visual, combined with comedy and action is a must watch for people who seek to find some alternate perspective of time.
4. Your name (2016)
Synopsis.
Like threads merge and unfold in textiles, people's life's cross each other in mysterious ways.. This story connects two teenagers by body swapping who are separated by space and time.. What starts as romantic and comedy movie quickly gets turned into mysterious and complex and how they process it..
Review.
I must include atleast one anime in this list, and this one's a must watch. With romance, comedy and supernatural as main tags, the movie satisfies visually too. The non linear narrative serves as the perfect way to tell this story.
5. Time freak
Synopsis -
Asa Butterfield (as most people know him as otis from sex education) plays a role of a young physics genius, recently got dumped by his girlfriend trying to build a device that could allow him to revisit the past and do over his mistakes so he could get back his girlfriend..
Review -
It's a combo of teenagers and timetravel giving an experience of both sci fi and some funny moments with nerdy dialogues. Sophie Turner is charming as usual.. Though, romance is the main focus, the plot has 3 leads which happens to include a friend too..
6.Source Code
Synopsis-
Ths complex plot (which if I reveal serves as a spoiler.. So...) takes place inside a train at a certain time which runs on a loop with only one person who is aware of time loop along with all the passengers who are condemned to repeat their actions every time the loop resets..
Review-
The details are awe strucking, leaves us to wonder.. The science behind the timetravel concepts are reasonable and convincing.. The visuals perfect.. For those who are into action, this is a must watch..
7. Happy death day series
Synopsis-
It's a 2 movie series. Each completed in its own way.. Where the girl gets back into the origin point of time every time she gets killed by a masked murderer..
Review-
The plot may sound like a horror, but this one's a comedy and a romance with all those anti social dialogues.. The scientifical explanation comes in the 2nd part, so don't overthink the 1st part, just enjoy it.
8. Project Almanac
Synopsis
Project Almanac is science fiction teen drama movie. It's about 5 teen geniuses who build a time traveling machine. It's a found - footage sci-fi. Using the time machine they lose their track and some immature actions leads to devastating ripple effects.
Review
The movie gained mixed reviews from the critics. The plot of the movie shows that you aren't supposed to play with science as it can be dangerous. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Definitely a good watch for sci-fi freaks
9. Interstellar
Synopsis
When the Earth becomes uninhabitable, an ex NASA scientist is sent on a mission to space to find a probable planet to make it as a new planet for humans
Review
This movie is a must for sci-fi lovers. Christopher Nolan's work is always splendid but this one caught my attention. It's thought provoking and intense plotline is unmissable.
10. Predestination
Synopsis:
A temporal Agent is set on a time travel journey to maintain the timeline and to save New York from future killers from committing crimes. The Temporal Agent time jumps to find the person behind Fizzle Bombers who kills over 10,000 innocent people.

I've watched many short movies but this one has my heart!!!
From the acting to directing the cinematography, the theme everything is perfect.
I highly recommend this 3 part short movie that includes topics of love, purpose and soulmates.
The 1st part is an introduction to the characters and how the two leads are different from each other
The 2nd part shows their relationship and how people sacrifice for the person they love even of it means they cannot be together.
The finale after the emotional 2nd part is a sweet ending to their story. They meet after years and there is No love lost.
